About the tool

What Pinterest Video downloader does

Video Image GIF GIF Public pins only

PinMediaKit is a Pinterest media downloader that checks a public Pinterest or pin.it link you submit and returns the available media result when one is found. Paste a pin link into the tool above — it reads the pin page, locates a video, image, GIF, or artwork file, and shows download buttons when readable media is present.

The result type depends entirely on what the Pinterest link exposes. A video pin typically returns a video. An image pin returns image or artwork. A GIF-style pin may return animated media or a static preview depending on how Pinterest surfaces that content. PinMediaKit retrieves what is already publicly accessible on the pin page — it does not modify media.

1

Paste a Pinterest or pin.it link

Copy the pin URL from the Pinterest app or browser and paste it into the input field above.

2

The tool checks the pin page

PinMediaKit reads the public pin and searches for a video, image, or GIF file. A “Finding media…” state appears while the check runs.

3

Download when media is found

If a readable media file is found, download buttons appear. Tap or click to save the file directly to your device.

Getting your link

How to copy a Pinterest link

PinMediaKit works with the direct URL of an individual Pinterest pin. Here is how to get that link on a phone or desktop.

From the Pinterest app
1
Open the pin you want in the Pinterest app.
2
Tap the share icon or three-dot menu at the top of the pin.
3
Choose Copy link from the share options.
4
Paste the link into the PinMediaKit tool above.
From a desktop browser
1
Open the Pinterest pin page in your browser.
2
Click the address bar to select the full URL.
3
Copy it — Ctrl+C on Windows or ⌘+C on Mac.
4
Paste the link into the PinMediaKit tool above.

Link formats

Supported Pinterest link types

The tool accepts two link formats — a full pinterest.com pin URL and a shortened pin.it link. Both point to individual pin pages. Board URLs, profile pages, and search result pages are not individual pin links and will not return a media result.

Media results

Why results can look different

Not every Pinterest link returns the same type of result. The tool returns whatever media Pinterest exposes on the pin page — which varies by pin type and how the content was originally uploaded.

Video pins

Native Pinterest video pins typically return a video file and a download button when the media is readable.

Image pins

Photo and artwork pins return an image or artwork result. Some video pins that cannot be read return a preview image instead.

GIF

GIF pins

Animated pins may return a GIF when exposed. If not available separately, the tool returns a static artwork preview.

Guidance

Tips for cleaner results

Paste the original pin page URL when possible — direct pin links produce the most reliable media results.
Only submit public Pinterest links. Private, restricted, or login-gated pins cannot be fetched.
Do not submit board URLs, profile pages, or Pinterest search results — these are not individual pin links.
Wait for the “Finding media…” state to finish before assuming the check failed — some pins take a few seconds to resolve.
If a full pinterest.com URL fails, try the pin.it short link for the same pin — or the reverse. One format sometimes resolves more cleanly.
If a result looks outdated, reload the Pinterest pin page and copy the link again before re-submitting.
Use a current browser for large media files. Older browser versions may handle large Pinterest video downloads less reliably.

Troubleshooting

If the download does not work

The link is private or restricted. Pinterest does not expose media on private pins or pins inside restricted boards. Only a public Pinterest link can produce a media result.
The pin was removed or deleted. If the pin no longer exists on Pinterest, the tool has no media to return. Open the pin page first to confirm it still loads normally.
Pinterest did not expose a readable media file. Some pins link out to external sites or embed media in a format that cannot be read directly. The tool may return a preview image rather than the video or GIF in these cases.
The browser opens the file instead of saving it. Some browsers play video or display images inline rather than downloading. Right-click the media and choose Save as…, or check your browser download settings.
Where do saved files go? Most browsers save files to your device Downloads folder by default. Check your browser download history — Ctrl+J on Windows or ⌘+Shift+J on Mac — if you cannot find the file.
Large file on a slow connection. A larger Pinterest video may take more time to begin saving on a slow or mobile network. Wait for the browser download indicator to confirm the transfer has started.

Privacy

Does PinMediaKit store Pinterest files?

PinMediaKit is an independent utility that checks the Pinterest link you submit and returns the available media result. It does not host Pinterest media, claim ownership of third-party content, or present files retrieved from Pinterest as its own. The tool reads a public link on your request and surfaces what that link exposes.

To reduce repeated server load and improve speed for frequently checked pins, successful media results may be cached briefly. This covers the media reference returned — PinMediaKit does not maintain a permanent library of downloaded Pinterest files.
