Pinterest Image Downloader – PinMediaKit
Download Pinterest images, pictures, and photos in original quality — free, fast, and no sign-in required.
The Pinterest Image Downloader lets you save publicly available photos, pictures, and images from Pinterest directly to your device — no account, app, or sign-in required.
It is built for personal reference, creative planning, mood boards, recipe collections, home décor ideas, craft inspiration, design notes, and offline browsing. Paste any public Pinterest pin link or short pin.it URL, and the tool retrieves the available image file, shows a preview, and gives you a direct download and open-in-browser option.
The tool works with whatever Pinterest publicly serves for each pin. The downloaded file may be a JPG, PNG, WebP, or GIF depending on how the media is stored on that specific pin.
Copy the Pin Link
Open the Pinterest pin containing the image you want. Copy the full URL from your browser address bar, or tap Share in the Pinterest app to copy the short pin.it link.
Paste Into the Tool
Paste the link into the input field above and press Download, or use the paste button next to the field. The tool checks the public pin and retrieves the available image.
Preview and Download
A preview card appears with the retrieved image. Tap Download Image to save the file, or Open in Browser to view the full image before deciding to save it.
Links That Work
Individual Pinterest pin URLs — such as pinterest.com/pin/… — and pin.it short links point directly to a single pin and its associated image file. These are the supported input formats.
Links That May Not Work
Board pages, profile pages, the Pinterest home feed, and search result pages do not correspond to a single downloadable image. These link types will not return a file from this tool.
What File Will I Get?
The tool fetches whatever public image Pinterest serves for that specific pin. The result is most often a JPG, but may also be PNG, WebP, or GIF depending on how the original was uploaded and stored.
Original vs. Resized
The tool tries to retrieve the highest-resolution version Pinterest makes publicly accessible — typically the originals-path file. Not every pin exposes the full original upload, so the result quality may vary between pins.
Quality Notes
Image quality depends entirely on what Pinterest has stored for that pin. Repinned or re-uploaded images may have already been compressed or resized on Pinterest’s end before the tool retrieves them.
Saved Filename
Downloaded files are saved with a PinMediaKit prefix combined with the pin title where available. The file extension — .jpg, .png, .webp, or .gif — is detected automatically from the retrieved file.
Private or Login-Required Pins
Only publicly visible pins are accessible. If the pin requires a Pinterest account to view, or if the board it belongs to is set to private, the tool cannot retrieve its image.
Deleted Pins
If the pin has been removed by its creator or taken down by Pinterest, the URL will no longer point to a valid image. Confirm the pin still loads on Pinterest before trying.
Restricted Content
Pinterest may restrict certain pins from public access due to content policy. Restricted pins return no retrievable image file regardless of how the pin appears in a browser.
Wrong URL Type
A board URL, profile URL, or search page link will not return a single downloadable image. Only individual pin page URLs and pin.it short links are valid inputs for this tool.
Incomplete or Broken Link
A URL that was copied partially or has been modified may not resolve to a valid pin. Always copy the link directly from your browser bar or via the Pinterest Share option.
Slow Pinterest Response
Pinterest occasionally responds slowly or times out on a request. If a valid pin URL fails, wait a brief moment and try the same link again — it usually resolves on the second attempt.
Copy, Paste, and Save From Any Mobile Device
Open the pin in the Pinterest app, tap the Share icon, and choose Copy Link. Then open this page in your mobile browser, paste the link into the input field, and tap Download. The tool also supports auto-triggering when you paste a Pinterest URL directly into the input.
On most Android browsers, the downloaded image goes straight to your Downloads folder and is accessible from your gallery. On iOS with Safari, the image may open in a new tab — tap the Share icon and choose Save to Photos or Save to Files to keep it on your device.
Saving behaviour differs by browser and device. If the file opens inline rather than downloading, use your browser’s Share or Save option to complete the save.
Download Responsibly
Only download images that you own, have clear permission to save, or are using strictly for personal reference in line with the creator’s intent. Appropriate personal uses include saving a reference image to a private mood board, offline browsing, or personal creative planning.
Downloading an image using this tool does not transfer any ownership or rights to that content. The photographer, designer, or creator retains full copyright. You may not repost, redistribute, sell, print for commercial use, edit for public purposes, or use the image in any commercial or public context without the rights holder’s explicit permission or a valid license.
Please respect the creative work shared on Pinterest and the platform’s community guidelines.
Can I download private Pinterest images?
No. This tool only works with publicly accessible pins. If a pin is set to private, belongs to a secret board, or requires a Pinterest account to view, the tool cannot retrieve its image. Only paste links to pins that are visible without logging in.
Why is my Pinterest image not downloading?
The most common reasons are a private or deleted pin, a board or profile URL instead of a pin URL, or an incomplete link. First confirm the pin still loads on Pinterest. If it does, check that you copied the full individual pin URL — not a board or search page — and try again.
What image format will I receive?
The format depends on what Pinterest serves for that pin. Most Pinterest photos are delivered as JPG files. Some pins may return PNG, WebP, or GIF depending on how the original content was uploaded. The file extension is detected automatically when you download.
Can I use downloaded Pinterest images commercially?
No — not without a valid license or direct permission from the creator. Saving an image for personal reference does not grant any commercial rights. The original photographer or designer retains full ownership. Always obtain proper permission or a license before using any downloaded image commercially, editorially, or publicly.
Does this work on mobile?
Yes. Copy the pin link from the Pinterest app using the Share option, open this page in your mobile browser, and paste the link. The tool runs fully in the browser without any app to install. How the image is saved after downloading depends on your specific device model and browser.
Do I need a Pinterest account to use this?
No account is needed. Simply paste a public Pinterest pin URL or pin.it short link into the tool and tap Download. If the pin itself requires a Pinterest login to view, the tool will not be able to retrieve it — only pins that are publicly visible without signing in are supported.
