Pinterest GIF Downloader – PinMediaKit
The Pinterest GIF Downloader lets you save publicly available GIFs, animations, and motion-style pins from Pinterest directly to your device — no account or sign-in required.

Preview and Download
A preview card appears when available. Use the Download GIF button to save the file, or Open in Browser to view the media before saving.
Links That Work
Individual Pinterest pin pages — such as pinterest.com/pin/… — and pin.it short links are the supported input types. These point directly to one specific pin with its associated media.
Links That May Not Work
Board pages, profile pages, home feed URLs, and Pinterest search result pages do not point to a single downloadable file. Pasting these types of links will not return a GIF.
What File Will I Get?
The tool retrieves whatever public file Pinterest makes available for that specific pin. The result may be a GIF, JPG, PNG, or WebP depending on how Pinterest has stored and served the media for that pin.
Animated or Still?
Not every pin that looks animated is stored as a GIF. If the underlying Pinterest file is a still image, the downloaded result will be a still image in the available format — not a GIF animation.
Quality Notes
The tool attempts to retrieve the highest-resolution publicly available version of the file. Quality can vary by pin and is not guaranteed to match the original upload quality for every pin.
Saved Filename
Downloaded files are saved with a PinMediaKit prefix and the pin title where available. The file extension is set automatically based on the detected file format.
Private or Login-Required Pins
This tool can only access pins that are publicly visible. Pins set to private or hidden behind a Pinterest account login are not accessible.
Deleted Pins
If the pin has been removed by the creator or by Pinterest, the URL will no longer return a valid file. Check that the pin still loads on Pinterest before trying again.
Restricted Content
Some pins may be restricted by Pinterest due to content policies. Restricted pins are not available for external retrieval regardless of their public appearance.
Wrong URL Type
Pasting a board URL, profile URL, or Pinterest home page link will not return a downloadable file. Only individual pin URLs and pin.it short links are supported.
Broken or Malformed Link
A link copied incompletely, or one that has been altered, may not resolve to a valid pin. Copy the full URL directly from your browser or the Pinterest share option.
Slow Pinterest Response
Occasionally Pinterest may respond slowly or time out. If the tool returns an error despite a valid pin URL, wait a moment and try the same link again.
Copy, Paste, and Save on Any Device
Open the pin in the Pinterest app, tap the Share button, and choose “Copy link.” Then open this page in your mobile browser, paste the link into the input field, and tap Download.
How the file is saved depends on your device and browser. On most Android browsers, downloaded files go to your Downloads folder. On iOS, Safari may open the file in a new tab — use the share sheet to save it to Files or Photos if needed.
Camera roll saving is not automatic on every device. If your browser previews the file inline rather than downloading it directly, look for a Share or Save option from your browser’s menu.
Download Responsibly
Only download GIFs and images that you own, have explicit permission to save, or are using for personal reference in line with the creator’s intent. Saving a file for offline viewing, a private mood board, or personal creative reference is a reasonable personal use.
Downloading a file using this tool does not transfer any rights to that content. The original creator retains full ownership. You may not repost, redistribute, sell, edit for commercial purposes, or use the downloaded content in any public or commercial context without the creator’s permission or a valid license.

Can I download private Pinterest GIFs?
No. This tool can only retrieve content from public Pinterest pins. Pins that require a Pinterest account to view, or those set to private by their creator, are not accessible. Only paste links to pins that are publicly visible without logging in.
Why is my Pinterest GIF not downloading?
The most common reasons are a private or deleted pin, a wrong URL type (such as a board or profile link), or a broken link. Confirm the pin loads correctly on Pinterest first. If it does and the issue continues, wait briefly and try once more — occasional slow responses from Pinterest can cause a temporary failure.
Does this tool save animated GIFs?
The tool is built specifically to retrieve GIFs and animations from Pinterest pins. However, the final file format depends entirely on what Pinterest publicly serves for that pin. If Pinterest stores the pin as a JPG or WebP rather than an animated GIF, that is the file the tool will return.
Can I use downloaded Pinterest GIFs commercially?
No — not without explicit permission or a valid license from the content creator. Saving a file for personal reference does not grant any commercial rights. The creator of the original content retains full ownership. For any commercial, editorial, or redistributed use, you must obtain permission or a license from the rights holder directly.
Does this work on mobile?
Yes. Copy the pin link from the Pinterest app using the Share option, then open this page in your mobile browser and paste the link. The tool runs fully in the browser. How the downloaded file is handled — whether it opens inline, downloads to a folder, or prompts a save dialog — depends on your specific device and browser.
Do I need a Pinterest account to use this?
